Understanding Our Role

While this is a service to Wycliffe member organizations and key partners in Asia Pacific, we ask you to do your part in the development of the publication. Even though Monsoon does most of the hard work for getting started, the owner is you. It’s your site.

Monsoon’s Role

• Create the Drupal environment and design a Theme (that is an overall style and the look of your website)
• Train your organization’s staff to do maintenance of your site
• Write up some text in English to get the site started
• Provide a proof-reader if the site is in English 

Your Role
A website is like a living creature—like a dog. If it’s not cared for, it dies. Owning a website means taking responsibility for maintaining it.  (See the graph below)

• Choose a staff member that will be the key contact person
• Choose a staff member that we can train for maintaining the website 
• Purchase a domain name. It requires a fee every year. The price varies depending on your country and domain name ending (.com .org .net). Monsoon does it for approximately $9/year, and others can do for about $35/year or less.
